The white marble memorial was built during the Mughal Empire by Shah Jahan for his wife Mumtaz Mahal. The monument sums up many of the former themes that are found in the Islamic architecture. Its refined elegance is a visible contrast of both the Hindu architecture of pre-Islamic India, with its thick walls, corbelled arches, and heavy lintels, and the Indo-Islamic styles, in which Hindu elements are combined with an extensive assortment of motives from Persian and Turkish sources. Return to the hotel. After, we visit Agra Fort. Situated alongside the Yamuna River, the magnificent Agra Fort symbolizes the stature and power of the Mughal Emperor Akbar. Here you can see the marble craftsmanship with the demonstration of the inlay work of precious and semiprecious stones in the marble. Overnight stay in Agra.
